“Laws that forbid the carrying of arms . . . make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.” — Thomas Jefferson

A  Democrat-lead legislature in Massachusetts intends to pass legislation (H 2005) that would force doctors in the state to identify patients who have guns in their homes, and to target them for gun confiscation under the state’s “Red Flag” statute.

“In the midst of a Democrat-led, multi-state assault on the right to keep and bear arms comes this. A Massachusetts politician has proposed a bill to mandate that doctors in the state “screen” patients for gun ownership, and then report owners to the state for possible targeting by red flag statues.” — Gardner Goldsmith, MRC TV

Democrat Representative Jon Santiago’s proposed legislation calls for the state public health commissioner to “promulgate regulations establishing (1) the means by which and the intervals at which patients shall be screened for the presence of firearms in the home and (2) guidelines for safety counseling for individuals that screen positive for the presence of firearms in the home.”

The Boston lawmaker’s proposed bill empowers doctors to treat gun ownership like a disease and gun violence as a public health concern.

“We know that gun safety is a public health issue. As such, doctors are uniquely positioned to help prevent gun-related injury and death.” — Marty Martinez, Boston Health and Human Services Chief

Santiago’s bill systematically screens “all patients for the presence of firearms in the home.” Santiago and his colleagues run ruff-shod over that fact that Massachusetts gun owners have the God-given right as pointed out in the Second Amendment to “screen positive for the presence of firearms.”

“Simply put, not only the bill, but the terminology used shows the disdain for simply exercising our civil rights in the Commonwealth.” — Gun Owners Action League, website post

Although some community health centers in the state already question patients about gun ownership and guns in the home, Massachusetts does not have a formal firearm screening program and the state guidelines to implement it.

“Many doctors have already adopted the kind of intervention we’re discussing today as best practice. This bill would simply make that practice universal amongst all medical professionals.” Jennifer Lo, Medical Director, Boston Public Health Commission

Currently no other state has similar policies in place to implement a gun-question screening program, and no details have been provided explaining just how the newly proposed screening program would work.

But the bill’s proponents aren’t sticklers for details. They say the medical consults will be similar to those already being conducted by medical professionals with patients about substance use and mental health.

The truth is Massachusetts legislators are treating guns like a deadly pathogen, and gun owners like carriers. Under the guise of protecting the community, the Democrat legislators want to quarantine gun owners and confiscated guns via “Red Flag” to prevent perceived outbreaks of violence.

“For many years the anti-civil rights crowd has tried to make gun violence a public health crisis. Now it appears that they want to treat simple gun ownership as a disease!” — Gun Owners Action League, website post

Mr. Marks, by mandate of the District of Columbia Precrime Division, I’m placing you under arrest for the future murder of Sarah Marks and Donald Dubin that was to take place today, April 22 at 0800 hours and four minutes.” (Minority Report)

Pre-Crime is unconstitutional, yet Republican Congressman Dan Crenshaw supports pre-crime legislation to take guns from people before any crime is committed. Clearly, he is betraying his oath of office as well as the voters who put him in that office.

“What we’re talking about is the ability to confiscate weapons when there’s clear evidence that violence is about to be committed.” [emphasis mine] Dan Crenshaw, R-TX

The reality of Red Flag Laws is that they nullify individual rights, and innocent people lose their 2nd Amendment rights and even their lives.

Yet Crenshaw says that Red Flag Laws aren’t “that controversial” becausethere can be “good ones and there can be bad ones.” Crenshaw doesn’t seem to understand that it’s never good to expand the power of the federal government at the expense of individual liberty. Human error is always possible; therefore, always error on the side of liberty.

John Anderton: Why don’t you cut the cute act, Danny boy, and tell me what it is you’re looking for?

Danny Witwer: Flaws.

John Anderton: There hasn’t been a murder in six years. There’s nothing wrong with this system it is…

Danny Witwer: Perfect I agree, but there’s a flaw. It’s human. (Minority Report, 2002)

“We do things without thinking about them at all; and we think things without the slightest intention of doing them.” Hector B. Poole, “A Penny for Your Thoughts” (The Twilight Zone)

Red Flag Laws are dangerous to our liberties and freedoms. Red Flag Laws not only violate the Second Amendment and the Fourth Amendment, they also violate the Fifth Amendment, Sixth Amendment, Seventh Amendment, and Fourteenth Amendment.

Everything about Red Flag Laws is unconstitutional and ought to be resisted on all fronts. If Americans are complacent and apathetic about Red Flag Laws they will quickly lose not only their gun rights, but their due process rights as well.

Gun Owners of America is calling on President Donald Trump, Congress, and state legislatures to reject calls for gun control, including Universal Background Checks,  Assault Weapon Bans, and Red Flag Laws.

“It is frustrating to see President Donald Trump’s continued support for so-called Red Flag laws. These Red Flag laws, properly known as Gun Confiscation Orders, are incompatible with actual due process and allow for the confiscation of firearms from innocent Americans.” GOA

Stay vigilant, patriots.

The Department of Justice (DoJ) is working on implementing “more than a dozen” new gun control regulations. The DoJ plans to bypass Congress to implement the new regs, which “range from new restrictions on high-powered pistols to gun storage requirements” and the issuance of “new rules expanding criteria for people who do not quality for gun ownership.”

Under the expanding criteria, any person “who spanked his kid, or yelled at his wife, or slapped her husband” could be barred from owning a gun.

According to the NRA and Gun Owners of America, Hussein I (peace be upon him) wants to disqualify anyone who sees a psychologist from owning a gun, which might deter some people from pursuing needed mental health care treatment for fear of losing their guns.

In March, the NRA warned that Loretta Lynch would be another Eric Holder, yet 10 GOP senators refused to heed the warning and joined with Democrats to make Lynch the country’s top law enforcement officer.

One of the treacherous ten Republicans who voted for Lynch was Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., who now is running for president. Thanks to the treacherous ten, Lynch’s DOJ, “now has the Second Amendment in its sights.”

Freedom and liberty are lost when Second Amendment supporters and NRA Bots no longer recognize that the First Amendment must be protected above all else and defended with greater zeal than the Second.

The NRA and their Bots fail to realize that unless they support the First Amendment they are aiding and abetting the totalitarian progressives in restricting the religious freedom of business owners and the political speech of grassroots organizations.

Once political correctness negates the First Amendment and religious conscience and offensive speech are abolished, the Second Amendment is rendered meaningless because nothing of significance is left to protect.

The First Amendment is the most important amendment to protect, but it’s not being championed like the Second Amendment has been.

Without the First Amendment, the Second Amendment is meaningless and so is the Bill of Rights for that matter.

What makes America exceptional is the right to freedom of conscience, and when Americans lose that right, America loses what’s made it exceptional in the eyes of the world.

NRA Supports Dems’ Bid to Keep Congress

By Jerry A. Kane

The headline is not a transposed “R” in place of an “E.” Yes, it’s the National Rifle Association and not the National Education Association that is supporting Democrat candidates to keep Republicans from retaking the House. The NRA has endorsed 39 House Democrat candidates even though their Republican challengers champion the Second Amendment. To add insult to injury, the organization is endorsing them in center-right House districts that Republicans could win. The NRA endorsement gives the so-called “Blue Dog” Democrats credibility that they wouldn’t have otherwise.

“[A]s long as the conservative rhetoric is coming from the Democrat candidates themselves, the voters aren’t buying it.  However, when the NRA … endorses that Democrat for reelection over their 2nd amendment champion Republican opponents … [it] give[s] credence to their claims of being born again conservatives.  The sad thing is that the NRA is endorsing Democrats in the very districts that we must win in order to obtain 39 seats.”—Daniel Horowitz

Right-to-life groups have three criteria candidates must meet to get their endorsement, Americans for Tax for Reform have candidates sign a pledge, but the NRA doesn’t require candidates to meet certain criteria or a sign pledge to uphold the Second Amendment for its endorsement; it’s a purely subjective judgment call.

For example, in last year’s special election for New York’s 23rd Congressional District, the NRA supported leftist Republican Dede Scozzafava over Conservative Party candidate Doug Hoffman. Scozzafava eventually dropped from the race and endorsed Democrat Bill Owens over Hoffman. Now, the NRA endorses Owens over Republican Matt Doheny in November.

Even though the NRA supports Republicans and has given 71 percent of its political action committee’s contributions to GOP candidates, that percentage is down compared to previous election cycles. The Democrat Party is the problem plaguing America and ignoring that problem is a fatal mistake.

A lot of so-called conservatives avoid discussing how the NRA is undermining the conservative movement and Republican efforts to oust George Soros’ Shadow Party Democrats from power. “Great Americans” Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck, et al either won’t mention the NRA’s undermining activities or they dance around them when they’re pointed out and never openly criticize the organization.

Major on-line conservative gatekeeper publications aren’t much better. They have been treading lightly over the NRA’s underhanded endorsements of Democrats, as if they’re trying their level best to remain in the good graces of the organization.

The NRA hides behind the one-issue, gun-rights only claim, and endorses Democrats to ensure participation in future elections. The organization didn’t oppose Eric Holder for attorney general and waited until the last minute to come out against Obama’s leftist Supreme Court nominees. It signed on to the Disclose Act, which was a carefully crafted Democrat scheme to impose onerous disclosure requirements on over 100,000 nonprofits and activist groups to prevent them from engaging in any effective political speech during campaign season. Such tactics are a fool’s game for those who feed the crocodile believing they will be the last to be eaten.

Face it; this hypocritical “arrogant and elitist” organization has more in common with Chuck Schumer than it does with Chuck Heston. Much like the leftist, race-baiting poverty pimps Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson, who fuel the race issue for relevance and money, the NRA’s Wayne LaPierre and chief lobbyist Chris Cox don’t seem too anxious for the gun control issue to go away. They appear to be more concerned with preserving their six-figure salaries than with upholding the Second Amendment and defeating the one party that unambiguously has been behind all gun control legislation.

There are few organizations purportedly on the side of freedom that aggravate me more than the National Rifle Association. In fact, these days I cringe when I see good conservatives with their lifetime member sticker from the NRA on the back of their cars.”—Eric Erickson

From the late 1960s through the late 1980s, the NRA zealously fought gun control advocates in the United States when Canada, Britain, Australia, and New Zealand buckled under and lost the individual’s right to firearm ownership and self-defense. But today’s NRA is merely a shell of what it once was, living off its past reputation. This once mighty 4 million-member, $307 million organization is no longer indispensable because it doesn’t understand what the fight is about. It has become a tool used by the Democrat Party to destroy this Republic and its Constitution. Its leaders are now too timid to uphold freedom and all too willing to sit at the table with the leftist elites in Washington, DC.

The political climate and the Democrat Party have irrevocably changed; conservative and moderate democrats are an extinct species. When Pelosi or Reid need votes, the so-called Blue Dog Democrats will line up and vote against Second Amendment protections as ordered.

The loss of liberty is looming, and America stands in the path of danger. Freedom shivers in the cold shadow of true peril as the irresistible siren summons the common man to muster resistance against politicians everywhere who would subvert those freedoms.

“So, as we set out this year to defeat the divisive forces that would take freedom away, I want to say those fighting words for everyone within the sound of my voice to hear and to heed, and especially for you, [Messrs. Cox and LaPierre]: ‘From my cold, dead hands!'”—Charlton Heston
