“[W]hosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet. Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment” Matthew 10:14,15, KJV

It’s an understatement to say that I’ve had a rocky relationship with online social networking services and video-sharing websites over the last twelve years.

After being blocked by Facebook, shadow banned by Twitter, and terminated by the Google subsidiary YouTube, I moved my conservative opinion and Christian worldview postings to USA.Life, Gab, and Brighteon.com. And now I’ve deleted my accounts from Gab and USA.Life and the videos from my channel at Brighteon.com.

When I had first joined Gab, I received a lot of feedback to my comments, postings, and responses. But after a few months, interest in my posts waned considerably. Fewer and fewer Gabbers responded to my postings and views.

And as for USA.Life, the reaction and interest to my posts and comments were few and far between from the time I joined. It appears that the truths and insights I had to offer never resonated or caught on with USA.Life members.

The decision makers at Brighteon had little appreciation for the time, work, and creativity I put into my videos. The site’s “moderation team” would periodically delay publishing particular videos, especially the ones critical of the Roman Catholic Church.

More than once I’d wait several hours or even days for one of my videos to be approved for public viewing on my channel, which increased my anxiety and added to my frustration. I would spend days finding a theme, gathering information, music, and video clips, and then rewriting and editing what I’d gathered for the video.

The final straw came when Brighteon’s “moderation team” rejected a video and refused to publish it for copyright violations. Their rejection notice was déjà vu all over again.

The YouTube braintrust had used “copyright violations” as the excuse to terminate my channel. The emerging pattern was clear. First build the case for termination by withholding certain videos for subject matter infractions and reject others for perceived copyright violations; then lower the termination boom on my channel for repeated infractions and violations.

I’m convinced that the social networking services and video-sharing websites to which I had subscribed didn’t want my conservative opinions and Christian worldview expressed and disseminated on their platforms. It’s also true that the “followers,” “friends,” and “viewers” I had on these sites expressed little to no interest in my comments, responses, and postings.

So, I’m taking my ball and going home. I’ve returned to my blog The Millstone Diaries to make one last ditch effort to reach people online with the truths that I have learned, the opinions I’ve formed, and the worldview I’ve developed over the years.

Paul wrote that “faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” It’s God alone who causes people to hear, and unless people online are given ears to hear the truth, The Millstone Diaries will join the ash heap with my other futile endeavors.

Amen.

Now Faithful play the Man, speak for thy God.

Fear not the wicked’s malice, nor their rod:

Speak boldly man, the Truth is on thy side;

Die for it, and to Life in triumph ride.

In many ways the Christianity group feature on Gab (a free speech social media alternative to Twitter) reminds me of the Vanity Fair in John Bunyan’s classic Pilgrims Progress. Like Bunyan’s Vanity Fair, Gab’s Christianity group is given over to frivolous pursuits and idle amusements.

Although Gab’s Christianity group is comprised mostly of unregenerate and reprobate Christians, it mirrors Bunyan’s fair in that it lures regenerate believers to the traditions, philosophies, and vain imaginings of a fallen world and away from the whole counsel of God and the Gospel of Jesus Christ found only in Scripture.

As at Bunyan’s fair, “the ware of Rome and her merchandise is greatly promoted” so it is in Gab’s Christianity group. Although false gospels resound throughout the cyber group, chiefly promoted among them is Roman Catholicism’s false gospel.

Papal apologists stand at the ready to distract from the truth of Scripture and to direct attention away from it. And when all offers to recognize Church and papal supremacy are spurned and rejected, believers can expect to be verbally attacked and even threatened with violence by Church zealots and apologists.

Born-again believers are the special targets of the group’s hostility. Believers who refuse to conform to the ecumenical leanings of the maniacal group can expect to be taunted, insulted, and ridiculed.

The group’s unregenerate and reprobate Christians take great exception to anyone who claims that Scripture is the sole the authority for the Christian faith and that the King James Bible contains the only Scripture that is trustworthy.

The Apostle Paul wrote in 1 Timothy that there would be times like these. “[T]he Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron” (4:1-2 KJV). And reprobate Christians have a seared conscience.

The smorgasbord Christianity that pervades the Gab group is antithetical to Biblical Christianity. Scripture does not teach that God loves everybody or that everyone who believes in God or says “Jesus Christ is Lord” is Heaven bound.

There would be no need for repentance and salvation, and people would be able to think and do whatever is right in their own eyes if it were true that God loves everybody unconditionally.

Scripture clearly teaches that God does not love everybody, that people are sinners under God’s condemnation and judgment, and that repentance is necessary for salvation. The teachings of Scripture are unambiguous; God hates wickedness and all workers of iniquity.

Scripture also teaches that demons believe in God and are condemned to Hell, and that many who do great works and call Jesus Christ Lord will also spend eternity in Hell.

Biblical Christianity is exclusive and does not allow for people to pick and choose verses and passages willy nilly from a smorgasbord of options that they can combine with teachings from other religions or philosophies. Paul attests in Galatians that God does not take the bastardization of His Gospel lightly.

Generally speaking, the Christianity group on Gab displays no love for Biblical truth, nor do they want to hear it in clips or see it in placards, memes, or posts. Equivocation notwithstanding, I denounce the group’s rejection of Biblical truth.

However, as a proponent of freedom of speech and conscience (seared or not), I must defend the unregenerate and reprobate Christian’s right to reject Biblical truth. In fact, I champion both their right to reject it, as well as my right to say that they have done so.

Peace.

The following question was posted above the photo below on Gab’s Christian group’s timeline: As a Christian, what do you think of Alan Turing, widely regarded as the “Father of Theoretical Computer Science and AI” who was a British mathematician who was in the team which broke the Enigma cipher of the Nazis during WWII; but who was punished by the law for being a homosexual, after which he died allegedly by suicide?

The question isn’t really about Turing as much as it’s about his being punished for being a homosexual and his subsequent suicide.

The enablers and advocates of homosexuality are tugging at heart-strings for Christians to decry the hateful, unjust law that punished such a gifted man and war hero for simply being homosexual. “Oh, the Humanity!”

And this is how I answered the question:

God destroyed Sodom with fire and brimstone from heaven chiefly because of homosexuality (Gen. 19:4-5, 24; II Peter 2:6-8; Jude 7).

Christ mentioned Sodom and not the other cities, not only because it went beyond them all in brutality and cruelty, but also because God destroyed Sodom in an extraordinary manner so that it would serve as an example to all ages, and its very name would be associated with gross immorality, utter depravity, and deep-seated wickedness.

Homosexuality isn’t a sin like lying, cheating, or murder. Homosexuals act on sexual urges that are foreign to the human condition. Heterosexual urges are perverted by the sin nature, but these urges are natural and stem from a desire to reproduce. Conversely, a sexual urge for an animal or someone of the same sex does not come from the sin nature. It’s an unnatural urge from a wicked spirit to gratify an unnatural sexual desire.

Homosexuality is an unnatural sinful sex act, whereas heterosexuality is not an unnatural sex act, and it isn’t considered sinful when it’s in the confines of marriage. Conversely, a homosexual sex act is always unnatural and sinful even when it’s committed in a “monogamous” same-sex relationship or in the confines of a same-sex “marriage.”

People are born with a sin nature, but they aren’t born possessed or oppressed by wicked spirits. Spiritual possession or oppression happens after people are born, not before.

Isaiah, Ezekiel, and Jeremiah all noted how open and brazen the Sodomites were with their sin. They did not hide their sin and were unbending and determined to proceed in their sin, which is why God issued His severest condemnation and judgment every time the sin of the Sodomites is mentioned in Scripture.

Peace.

The caption in the poster below reflects the unScriptural understanding many “Christians” today have concerning Jesus. Their Jesus feels the same way they do. He too is saddened and heartbroken by America’s wickedness and immorality.

When I read the caption in the “meme” above on the Christian group’s timeline on Gab, I wrote, “You might want to rethink this after you look up the definition of omnipresent.”

Ink Elf who posted the “meme” responded, “And you might want to hold off on commenting until you look up the definition of ‘meme'”

What follows is the back and forth that transpired between Ink Elf and me:

Jerry Kane @imkane

I have looked it up. But it doesn’t change the fact that you’re giving the wrong impression. And the implication is blasphemous, whether it’s a meme or not. Every idle word, my friend. Matthew 12:36. Peace.

Ink Elf @inkelf

Jerry, a meme “Expresses a thought or idea via a picture. A meme is an idea, often with the aim of conveying a particular phenomenon, theme, or meaning represented by the meme. It reaches multiple people that would not otherwise be reached through conventional methods” In short, people will see a meme and think about it. It will reach people that would never listen to ‘preaching’ but they’ll think about the meme’s message. There was a time when churches though guitars and drums had no place in a church service. “That’s worldly. Therefore it’s of the devil.” Stop being legalistic. If it makes even one person think, one person seek the truth, one person turn to God, then you can tell Jesus why YOU were opposed to it. For your next homework assignment, look up ‘Pharisee’ and see what Christ had to say about them.

Jerry Kane @imkane

Why not present the truth about the sovereign Lord Jesus rather than dress Him up as a heartbroken Santa figure uncertain and heartbroken pining over the loss of a corrupt nation? The hour’s too late for childish games, Elf. As for legalism, that’s a word you can add to omnipresent to enrich your vocabulary. BTW, keep your Newspeak crap definitions and your drums; they’re boring and useless much like your knowledge of God’s written word.

Ink Elf @inkelf

Jerry. there are none so blind as those who will not see. Look at all the CHRISTIANS that have liked the meme. Those who have reposted it. The whole point of it is that Christ is heartbroken over this country, that used to be “One nation under God.” And YOU are the only one opposed to it…because you can’t understand the whole POINT of a meme! But I guess you’re right. YOU are the only Christian that understands the scriptures. No one else knows what it means to “Take the gospel to all the world” If it’s not spread the way YOU approve of, then it’s wrong. If even ONE person seeks out Christ over this meme, then according to you, they’re not really saved. You’re exactly what Christ was talking about when he said, “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites, because you travel around on sea and land to make one proselyte; and when he becomes one, you make him twice as much a son of hell as yourselves.” ANYONE that opposes ANY method that reaches the LOST is a son of Satan posing as a child of God.

You’re muted.

For those unfamiliar with the Newspeak on social media, mute is a less severe form of block, and is much cooler to GenXers and Millennials, who block only in cases of emotional overload or meltdown. A block shuts down all communication between both parties.

In the case of Ink Elf, his/her mute basically blocks my comments/responses from appearing on posts and responses Ink Elf writes, but Ink Elf’s comments will appear on posts and responses that I write.

In other words, Ink Elf can post and comment without fear of seeing my rebuttals. It’s like saying, I don’t want my thinking challenged; I only want to challenge your thinking. So Ink Elf can respond to what I write, but I can’t respond to what Ink Elf writes.

Now, tell me again why you think there’s hope for the future of this nation?

Only You Can Prevent Social Media Giant Censorship

“GOVERNMENT INTERVENTION” NOT REQUIRED

by Jerry Kane, ©2019, blogging at The Millstone Diaries

Back in the day when leftists masqueraded as liberals, they’d often say, “I do not agree with what you have to say, but I’ll defend to the death your right to say it.” Although the aphorism’s meaning was lost on them, it reverberated within their “echo chambers” and gave them the pretense of magnanimity, which they seemed to relish at the time.

Today the leftists have bolted from the closet and have abandoned all pretense of embracing the protection of free speech. They’ve taken off the mask of liberalism, and discarded it along with their “cherished” aphorism. Now they are leading the effort to squelch freedom of speech, demanding that ideas and opinions they deem insensitive and hateful be censored and silenced on social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube. Being hardcore leftists themselves, the CEOs of these social media giants have been more than happy to comply with their wishes.

First Stormfront, a white nationalist, white supremacist, neo-Nazi group lost its web address of more than two decades beginning the “crackdown against hate sites.” Whimpers chimed over the Internet, but not many on the right gave serious attention to what was happening. Next the social media giants collectively set their sights on Alex Jones, which garnered more attention and brought their assault on free speech to the forefront. Although they saw Jones as an easy target, he was the proverbial “canary in the coal mine” (albeit more Kuku than canary) warning Americans that the social media giants had joined forces and were out to purge the Internet from politically “inappropriate” ideas and “offensive” speech.

But the giants weren’t concerned because they viewed Jones as the tin-foil hat poster boy for offensive, insensitive, and hateful speech. They surmised that the mainstream conservative and evangelical opinion-makers would show little sympathy for Jones and wouldn’t make much noise about the violation of his free speech rights. And they guessed right because few of the mainstream talkers and pundits on the right voiced any genuine concern for what was happening to Jones.

As they say, the camel doesn’t stop once its nose is under the tent, so the social media giants went after more undesirable voices that they considered low-hanging fruit. They banned Dennis Prager, Franklin Graham, some lesser-known Christian ministries for posting “unsuitable” content on their platforms. And now it’s become a daily occurrence as more and more evangelicals, conservatives, classic liberals, and patriots are rounded up and shadow-banned by Twitter, censored by Facebook, and terminated by YouTube for expressing ideas and opinions that the giants claim violate their community standards regarding bullying and hate speech.

America needs a kid who’s good with a slingshot because the lauded movers and shakers and heralded opinion-makers with the loudest voices and biggest megaphones on the right are either intimidated, afraid, or controlled and won’t stand up and fight the giants. They know what’s been going on, yet they constantly promote the social media giants’ platforms on their shows, encouraging people to join the platforms and to like and follow them when they go there. They’re appeasers feeding the giants hoping to be the last ones censored and banned.

Conservatives, classic liberals, evangelicals, and patriots on social media find themselves on the horns of a dilemma. If they continue to express contrary thoughts, ideas, and opinions, they will be purged. If they self-censor and stop posting and tweeting their “offensive and hateful” thoughts, ideas, and opinions and go along to get along, some social media friend, social justice warrior, or LGBTQ and sometimes Y-stapo member will uncover something offensive they tweeted or posted years before they got their mind right and they’ll be given a strike or a time out or some other childish reminder that failure to communicate means time in the box.

Yet something must be done to halt the attack on free speech and to keep the giants from purging all their political and religious enemies from their platforms under the pretense of promoting inappropriate ideas and expressing offensive speech. Although the solution may prove to be easier said than done, it will solve the problem, and it doesn’t require government intervention.

If the majority of account-holding conservatives, classic liberals, evangelicals, and patriots on Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube would en masse join the giants’ competitors such as Gab, USA.Life, and Brighteon.com and ask their friends on social media to join them there, it’s likely Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube would backpedal their censorship and revise their speech code guidelines and community standards.

If the U.S. Constitution, the First Amendment’s freedom of speech and conscience clause, and the Founders’ belief in God-given rights and individual liberty mean anything to conservatives, classic liberals, evangelicals, and patriots in this country, this proposed solution will be easier done than said. What’ll happen next only God knows. “I didn’t come here to tell you how this is going to end. I came here to tell you how it’s going to begin. … Where we go from there is a choice I leave to you.”
