“Saying that Guns cause Murders is like saying Steering Wheels cause car wreck” ― Stanley Victor Paskavich, Return to Stantasyland
Thinking people know that no action is done in a vacuum, i.e., actions have consequences, and gun control is an action that has consequences. After weighing the consequences, the question becomes does gun control lead to less crime and fewer deaths?
Many Americans presuppose that gun control laws work. The problem is there’s no proof that they do. In fact, the data suggest that gun control laws don’t work.
People blame the guns, but guns aren’t doing the mass murders, mass murderers are. Just like drunk drivers cause automobile deaths, not automobiles. Or people who text with cell phones while driving cause deaths, not cell phones.
When will the bleeding-heart lovers of humanity call for immediate legislation to limit sales of automobiles and cell phones and for universal background checks on the people who own them?
The truth is people who believe that guns are responsible for the murderous acts of people are not just being emotional, they’re being irrational.
My latest video, “Don’t Let “Em Take Your Guns” at Brighteon.com combines a series of clips highlighting the dangerous effects of Red Flag Laws, Universal Background Checks, and gun control laws on freedom loving people.
