Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary is always adding new words to reflect the changes in language and culture. Earlier this month, another new word and definition was added to its updated print edition and online version.
(H-T Clive)
Ineptocracy (in-ep-tŏk’-rə-cē)
n. pl. ineptocracies
- A system of government where the least capable to lead are elected by the least capable of producing, and where the members of society least likely to sustain themselves or succeed, are rewarded with goods and services paid for by the confiscated wealth of a diminishing number of producers.
NOTE: This post is tongue and cheek. The word doesn’t really exist in Webster’s dictionary; however, it does exist in an online dictionary of slang, which I included in the link with the post.
