Homeowners across the nation have grown wary of the Smart Meter technology once ballyhooed by the Ruler and utility companies.
“We can imagine the day when you’ll be able to charge the battery on your plug-in hybrid car at night, because your smart meter reminded you that nighttime electricity is cheapest.“—Barack Obama
Headaches, insomnia, tinnitus, and DNA breakdown are just a few of the many health problems being reported from using Smart Meters. Smart Meters are wireless transmitters that constantly emit electromagnetic frequencies (EMFs), which have been linked to health problems in “electrically hypersensitive” people.
“The scientific data tells [sic] us that 5% of the population will get sick immediately from RF [radio frequency emissions] disease, and another 10% will develop the disease over time. …
Extensive measurements have demonstrated that all of the meters measured so far … emit noise on the customer’s electric wiring in the form of high frequency voltage spikes, typically with an amplitude of 2 volts, but a frequency any ware [sic] from 4,000 Hertz, up to 60,000 Hz. The actual frequency of the phenomena is influenced by the devices that are plugged into the customer’s power. Some houses are much worse than others, and this observation has been confirmed by PG&E [Pacific Gas & Electric, a major utility company in California] installers that have talked to us.”—Rob States, electrical engineer, scientific consult
Health dangers are the tip of the iceberg. Some Smart Meters are defective, causing electric bills to go up rather than down after they were installed. Additionally, Reuters reports that homes with Smart Meters had no real long-term savings when compared to those without them.
“Participants who kept the monitor (…) did not manage to sustain their electricity savings any better than those without a monitor. A second finding is that certain groups of people seem more receptive to energy-saving interventions than others. A ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach for home energy monitors cannot be justified.”
So why badger and push homeowners to install Smart Meters?
Smart Meters are an energy monitoring device that constantly updates the utility company on the homeowners’ electrical use, such as when they wake up in the morning, when they go on vacation, and the kinds of appliances they use and the times they are using them. Utility companies will be able to sell homeowners’ private, personal information to corporations and the federal government, adding more government control over people’s lives.
“We need to make sure that we’re really moving electricity in the smartest way … Eventually, we can get to a system where an electric company will be able to hold back some of the power so that maybe your air conditioner won’t operate at its peak”—Carol Browner, Energy Czar
Ironically, California is leading the charge against forcing homeowners to install the Smart Meter. California homeowners can now opt-out of the state-mandated Smart Meter program, but it’s going to cost them an additional $14 to $20 a month as well as a fee to install the old analog meter.
Kentucky Republican Senator Rand Paul is right. It’s time to pull the plug on mandatory smart meters.

Deanna,
I’m sorry to learn about your problems with the smart meters in Oregon. I can’t help you with any contact information in your state, but you might try contacting Shelly Kalnitsky, Editor of Cell Phone Radiation News Bureau at http://www.cprnews.com/. or phone her at 561-989-9147 in Florida. I don’t know much about her except that she is a source for learning more about the potential health risks from cell phones.
I pray you and your son find the help you seek.
God bless,
I.M. Kane
