FETAL LETHAL INJECTION CENTER OPENS FOR BUSINESS SOMEWHERE IN DC METRO AREA

Abortionist James Pendergraft, whose medical license has been suspended four times in Florida, is now offering a late-term abortion procedure at his “Fetal Lethal Injection Center” in the Washington, DC, metro area.

Pendergraft’s Website “LateTermAbortion.net” offers the intra-cardiac injection procedure for late second-term and third-term pregnancies, which involves using a spinal needle to inject poison or air into the fetal heart killing the baby in the uterus. The intra-cardiac injection procedure usually takes between 2 and 4 minutes to off the unwanted baby.

Pendergraft’s center is not a one-stop clinic for abortion. The patient is discharged within 15 minutes of the injection and must find a doctor or a medical facility to remove the dead baby before infection sets in.

Americans United for Life condemns the procedure for being both dangerous for women and for forcing pro-life health-care providers to complete abortions to protect the lives of patients.

In fact, Pendergraft’s Website warns that the procedure can be life threatening for women who change their minds after undergoing the injection:

“The problem is if you do not go into labor for a few days, not only can the patient’s blood become severely infected, but this can lead to a clotting disorder where the patient’s blood does not clot, severe low blood pressure, bleeding constantly from needle sticks, internal bleeding, multiple organ failure which can lead to maternal death. This is nothing that should be taken lightly. Therefore once the intra-cardiac injection is complete, there is no turning back.”

The exact location of Pendergraft’s center has not been disclosed, but from descriptions on the Website it appears to be in a jurisdiction were he holds no active license.
