ABC is reporting the two men who were flying from Chicago-to-Amsterdam with the “mock bombs” in their luggage have been arrested in Amsterdam and charged with “preparation of a terrorist attack” at the request of American authorities.
ABC reports the men, Ahmed Mohamed Nasser al Soofi, of Detroit, Michigan, and Hezem al Murisi, allegedly from Yemen, were cleared Sunday by security at O’Hare International Airport in Chicago even though al Soofi had received additional screening for “bulky clothing” by airport security in Birmingham, Alabama.
“This was almost certainly a dry run, a test,” said one senior law enforcement official.
