Rep. Andre Carson:  Protesters are “One of the Largest Threats to our Internal Security” 2:37 Video

Representative Andre Carson is another of George Soros’ Shadow Party stooges spouting misinformation about white rage and tea party terrorists to deflect public scrutiny from Brother O’s transformative agenda.

And yet far too many tea party protestors fail to hold the Democrat Party accountable for such a despicable smear campaign. Perhaps H. L. Mencken had it right in saying that “no one ever went broke under-estimating the stupidity of the American Public.”

Rep. Andre Carson: Tea Party Protesters Are ‘One of the Largest Threats to our Internal Security’

By Larry O’Connor

As our readers have already learned, Rep. Andre Carson gathered Capitol Hill reporters around him and told the tale of racial slurs and menacing crowds on the verge of hurling rocks at the congressmen.  Our first few videos showed the congressmen coming out of the Cannon Office Building, walking down the steps and into Independence Avenue from various angles.  None of those videos revealed the racial hatred Rep. Carson conveyed to reporters that day and none of the videos showed a mob rushing or in any way impeding the congressmen.

When Rep. Carson gathered reporters around him to spread the myth of racial slurs being hurled “fifteen times” he painted the protesters not just as racists, but as a terrorist threat.  We know this, because Kerry Picket of the Washington Times recorded Rep. Carson as he explained it all to eager reporters.

KERRY PICKET (Wash. Times): Do you think the people outside are generally dangerous or no?

REP. CARSON: Oh absolutely. I worked in homeland security. I’m from intelligence, and I’ll tell you, one of the largest threats to our internal security…I mean terrorism has an Islamic face, but it really comes from racial supremacist groups. (inaudible) Its [sic] the kind of thing we keep a threat assessment on record [for].

PICKET: From groups like this?

REP. CARSON: Oh absolutely.

And we can now see this two pronged message continuing in the narrative from Democratic politicians and the media:  The Tea Party protests are really about white rage and they are sowing the seeds for domestic terrorism.  This was the message delivered by Rep. Carson that afternoon and that is the message the media has run with.

Only problem is, we can’t find any proof to back up Rep. Carson’s story.  And when challenged, he hides behind the legend and stature of Rep. Lewis.  The constant challenge of “Are you calling Rep. John Lewis a liar?” must now be answered with “Are you calling Rep. Andre Carson beyond reproach?”

Barack Obama Doesn’t Care About Southern People

By Alan Smithee

We have three, count ‘em three, disasters unfolding across the American South – east to west – and yet President Obama has done and is doing next to nothing about any of them.

Nashville, TN is currently under water.  Floods there have killed at least 19 and done $1 billion in damage.  The whole city is practically displaced.  Where’s President Obama?  He’s out there doing his usual insult comic schtick, while his Secretary of the Interior went whitewater rafting.  Heckuva job, uh, Strickie!

Out in the Gulf of Mexico, a major oil spill threatens the ecology on the coasts of Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia and Florida – all southern states.  The Obama administration at first downplayed the disaster, then moved too slowly.  Reports say that if the administration had acted with requisite urgency, up to 95% of the oil could have been burned away harmlessly.  Instead, fisheries, wildlife beaches and perhaps rivers are threatened by this oil flood.

And don’t forget that in the American Southwest, from Texas to California, the border remains an unguarded mess.  Mexico is fast becoming one of the most dangerous places in the Western hemisphere, as drug violence and migrant abuse (!) spirals out of control.  Border security is, of course, mostly a federal responsibility, yet the Obama administration has over the past year systematically cut funding for border security initiatives.  Here’s one cutHere’s anotherAnd here’s another.  Looks pretty systematic to me.  Meanwhile, the border violence is spilling into Arizona, so that state passes a law to try to get a grip on the situation.  Obama’s response?

He called Arizona “misguided” and “irresponsible.”

Disasters across the American South, east to west, and Barack Obama either does nothing about them or actively fights against efforts to deal with them.

Why? It’s simple.  Barack Obama doesn’t care about Southern people.

Perhaps we need Jeff Foxworthy to pull a Kanye West.

Update: Major thanks to the big leaguers at Hot Air.

Update: And now…Instalanche!  I’ve died and gone to blog heaven.

Update: Why did President Obama leave Nashville out of his Prayer Day proclamation?  Well, because the title of this post seems to be true.

High School administrators sent home five students for refusing to turn inside-out and remove their American flag T-shirts and bandannas on Cinco de Mayo day.

“They said we could wear it on any other day, but today is sensitive to Mexican-Americans because it’s supposed to be their holiday so we were not allowed to wear it.”—Daniel Galli, Live Oak High School student

More than 100 students were spotted wearing the colors of the Mexican flag — red, white and green — as they left school, including some who had the flag painted on their faces or arms.

California Students Sent Home for Wearing U.S. Flags on Cinco de Mayo

By Joshua Rhett Miller

Administrators at a California high school sent five students home on Wednesday after they refused to remove their American flag T-shirts and bandannas — garments the school officials deemed “incendiary” on Cinco de Mayo.

The five teens were sitting at a table outside Live Oak High School in Morgan Hill, Calif., on Wednesday morning when Assistant Principal Miguel Rodriguez asked two of them to remove their American flag bandannas, the Morgan Hill Times reported. The boys told the newspaper they complied, but were asked to accompany Rodriguez to the principal’s office.

The five students — Daniel Galli, Austin Carvalho, Matt Dariano, Dominic Maciel and Clayton Howard — were then told they must turn their T-shirts inside-out or be sent home, though it would not be considered a suspension. Rodriguez told the students he did not want any fights to break out between Mexican-American students celebrating their heritage and those wearing American flags.

“They said we were starting a fight,” Dariano told the newspaper. “We were fuel to the fire.”

The boys told Rodriguez and Principal Nick Boden that turning their shirts inside-out was disrespectful, so their parents decided to take them home, the newspaper reports.

“I just couldn’t believe it,” Julie Fagerstrom, Maciel’s mother, told the newspaper. “I’m an open-minded parent, but it’s got to be on both sides. It can’t be five kids singled out.”

Galli told NBC Bay Area, “They said we could wear it on any other day, but today is sensitive to Mexican-Americans because it’s supposed to be their holiday so we were not allowed to wear it.”

In a statement released on Wednesday, the Morgan Hill Unified School District said it did not agree with the school’s actions.

“In an attempt to foster a spirit of cultural awareness and maintain a safe and supportive school environment, the Live Oak High School administration took certain actions earlier today,” the statement read. “The district does not concur with the Live Oak High School administration’s interpretation of either board or district policy related to these actions.”

Attempts to reach school officials early Thursday were not successful. A secretary told the Morgan Hill Times that Boden and Rodriguez were unavailable for comment on Wednesday.

According to its website, Live Oak High School is a 1,300-student institution in the southern part of Santa Clara County, with most students residing in the nearby cities of Morgan Hill and San Jose.

“The student population reflects the rich ethnic and socioeconomic diversity of the community,” the website reads.

More than 100 students were spotted wearing the colors of the Mexican flag — red, white and green — as they left school, including some who had the flag painted on their faces or arms, the Morgan Hill times reported.

While bandannas of any color are banned at the school, its dress code policy does not contain references to American flags.

“However, any clothing or decoration which detracts from the learning environment is prohibited,” the policy reads. “The school has the right to request that any student dressing inappropriately for school will change into other clothes, be sent home to change, and/or be subject to disciplinary action.”

Freshman Laura Ponce, who had a Mexican flag painted on her face and chest, told the Morgan Hill Times that Cinco de Mayo is the “only day” Mexican-American students can show their national pride.

“There was a lot of drama going on today,” Ponce told the newspaper.

Some other Mexican-American students reportedly said their flags were taken away or asked to be put away, but no other students were sent home on Wednesday.

Lis Wiehl, a former federal prosecutor and a Fox News legal analyst, said the incident appears to a “blatant” violation of the students’ First Amendment right to free speech. She noted that inciting violence is an exception to a First Amendment legal defense, but Wiehl said she saw no indications that the students provoked anyone.

“Unless I’m missing something, this seems like a blatant violation of the First Amendment,” said Wiehl, adding that uniforms are not required at the public school. “And they’re wearing, of all horrific things, the American flag.”

The Republican Party has not put forth this many black candidates since Reconstruction for the current election cycle. The downside is black Republicans will not receive support from the vast majority of American blacks because of groupthink.

The dirty little secret is that the leftist elite controls Americans though victimization propaganda.  Citizens are divided into groups and conditioned to parrot each group’s dictates or suffer banishment. The group’s victim status speaks for and determines the identities of its members, i.e., blacks are only black when they parrot African-American dictates; women are only women when they parrot feminist dictates; the same is true for deaf, homosexual, Hispanic, Jewish, environmental, labor union and many other groups as well.

When Maryland Lieutenant Governor Michael S. Steele ran against Representative Benjamin Cardin for the US Senate, Democrat thugs and butt boys maligned Steele’s reputation, pelted him with Oreo cookies, depicted him as a black-faced minstrel, and branded him a Sambo and an Uncle Tom.

And how did the vast majority of Maryland blacks react to the Democrat Party’s abuse of the first black man to win a statewide election in Maryland? They said there was nothing wrong with “pointing out the obvious,” and elected the white man Senator.  As Maryland State Senator Lisa A. Gladden, a black Baltimore Democrat, pointed out:

“Party trumps race, especially on the national level. If you are bold enough to run, you have to take whatever the voters are going to give you. … Because he [Steele] is a conservative, he is different than most public blacks, and he is different than most people in our community. His politics are not in the best interest of the masses of black people.”

What happened to Steele will happen again to many of these black Republicans. The truth is the vast majority of American blacks exemplify the notion of groupthink and are controlled by their leftist Democrat masters.

I am saddened … I am cynical …

Black Hopefuls Pick This Year in G.O.P. Races

By Jennifer Steinhauer

Among the many reverberations of President Obama’s election, here is one he probably never anticipated: at least 32 African-Americans are running for Congress this year as Republicans, the biggest surge since Reconstruction, according to party officials.

The House has not had a black Republican since 2003, when J. C. Watts of Oklahoma left after eight years.

But now black Republicans are running across the country — from a largely white swath of beach communities in Florida to the suburbs of Phoenix, where an African-American candidate has raised more money than all but two of his nine (white) Republican competitors in the primary.

Party officials and the candidates themselves acknowledge that they still have uphill fights in both the primaries and the general elections, but they say that black Republicans are running with a confidence they have never had before. They credit the marriage of two factors: dissatisfaction with the Obama administration, and the proof, as provided by Mr. Obama, that blacks can get elected.

“I ran in 2008 and raised half a million dollars, and the state party didn’t support me and the national party didn’t support me,” said Allen West, who is running for Congress in Florida and is one of roughly five black candidates the party believes could win. “But we came back and we’re running and things are looking great.”

But interviews with many of the candidates suggest that they felt empowered by Mr. Obama’s election, that it made them realize that what had once seemed impossible — for a black candidate to win election with substantial white support — was not.

“There is no denying that one of the things that came out of the election of Obama was that you have a lot of African-Americans running in both parties now,” said Vernon Parker, who is running for an open seat in Arizona’s Third District. His competition in the Aug. 24 primary includes the son of former Vice President Dan Quayle, Ben Quayle.

Princella Smith, who is running for an open seat in Arkansas, said she viewed the president’s victory through both the lens of history and partisan politics. “Aside from the fact that I disagree fundamentally with all his views, I am proud of my nation for proving that we have the ability to do something like that,” Ms. Smith said.

State and national party officials say that this year’s cast of black Republicans is far more experienced than the more fringy players of yore, and include elected officials, former military personnel and candidates who have run before.

Mr. Parker is the mayor of Paradise Valley, Ariz. Ryan Frazier is a councilman in Aurora, Colo., one of four at-large members who represent the whole city. And Tim Scott is the only black Republican elected to the South Carolina House of Representatives since Reconstruction.

“These are not just people pulled out of the hole,” said Timothy F. Johnson, chairman of the Frederick Douglass Foundation, a black conservative group. That is “the nice thing about being on this side of history,” he said.

He added that the candidates might be helped by the presence of Michael Steele, the chairman of the Republican National Committee who is black and ran for the Senate himself in 2006.

“Party affiliation is not a barrier to inspiration,” Mr. Steele said in an e-mail message. “Certainly, the president’s election was and remains an inspiration to many.”

But Democrats and other political experts express skepticism about black Republicans’ chances in November. “In 1994 and 2000, there were 24 black G.O.P. nominees,” said Donna Brazile, a Democratic political strategist who ran Al Gore’s presidential campaign and who is black. “And you didn’t see many of them win their elections.”

Tavis Smiley, a prominent black talk show host who has repeatedly criticized Republicans for not doing more to court black voters, said, “It’s worth remembering that the last time it was declared the ‘Year of the Black Republican,’ it fizzled out.”

In many ways, this subset of Republicans is latching on to the basic themes propelling most of their party’s campaigns this year — the call for smaller government, less spending and stronger national security — rather than building platforms around social conservatism.

“Things have evolved,” said Newt Gingrich, the former speaker of the House, who is heavily involved in recruiting Republican candidates. “I think partly the level of hostility to Obama, Pelosi and Reid makes a lot of people pragmatically more open to a coalition from the standpoint of being a long-term majority party.”

Many of the candidates are trying to align themselves with the Tea Partiers, insisting that the racial dynamics of that movement have been overblown. Videos taken at some Tea Party rallies show some participants holding up signs with racially inflammatory language.

A recent New York Times/CBS News poll found that 25 percent of self-identified Tea Party supporters think that the Obama administration favors blacks over whites, compared with 11 percent of the general public.

The black candidates interviewed overwhelmingly called the racist narrative a news media fiction. “I have been to these rallies, and there are hot dogs and banjos,” said Mr. West, the candidate in Florida, a retired lieutenant colonel in the Army. “There is no violence or racism there.”

There is also some evidence that black voters rally around specific conservative causes. A case in point was a 2008 ballot initiative in California outlawing same-sex marriage that passed in large part because of support from black voters in Southern California.

Still, black Republicans face a double hurdle: black Democrats who are disinclined to back them in a general election, and incongruity with white Republicans, who sometimes do not welcome the blacks whom party officials claim to covet as new members.

This spring, Gov. Robert F. McDonnell of Virginia was roundly attacked for not mentioning slavery in his Confederate History Month proclamation, which he later said was a “major omission.” Black candidates said these types of gaffes posed problems in drawing African-Americans to their party, but also underscored their need to be there.

“I think what the governor failed to do was to recognize the pain and the emotion that was really sparked by the institution of slavery,” said Mr. Frazier of Colorado. “As a Republican, I think I have a responsibility to continue to work within my party to avoid those types of barriers. The key for the Republican Party is to engage every community on the issues they care about and not act as if they don’t exist.”

“The Federal Government has refused for years to do anything to help the border states. We have been over run and once they are here we have the burden of funding state services that they use. Education costs have been over a billion dollars. The healthcare cost billions of dollars. Our State is broke, $3.5 billion deficit and we have many serious decisions to make. One is that we do not have the money to care for any who are not here legally. It has to stop.

The leftist media has [sic] distorted what SB 1070 will do. It is not going to set up a Nazi Germany. Are you kidding? The ACLU and the leftist courts will do everything to protect those who are here illegally, but it was an effort to try and stop illegal’s [sic] from setting up businesses, and employment, and receiving state services and give the ability to local law enforcement when there is probable cause, like a traffic stop, to determine if they are here legally.

Federal law is very clear, if you are here on a visa you must have your papers on you at all times. That is the law. In Arizona all you need to show you are a legal citizen is a driver license, MVD identification card, Native American Card, or a Military ID. This is what you need to vote or get a hunting license. So nothing new has been added to this law. No one is going to be stopped walking down the street.  The Socialists who are in power in DC are angry because we dare try and do something. State Senator Sylvia Allen responds to SB1070

From The Cholla Jumps

I’m Arizona State Senator Sylvia Allen. I want to explain SB 1070 for which I voted yes. Rancher Robert Krentz was murdered by the drug cartel on his ranch a month ago. I participated in a senate hearing two weeks ago on the border violence, [sic] here is [sic] just some of the highlights from those who testified.

The people who live within 60 to 80 miles of the Arizona/Mexico Border have for years been terrorized and have pleaded for help to stop the daily invasion of humans who cross their property.

One Rancher testified that 300 to 1200 people a DAY come across his ranch vandalizing his property, stealing his vehicles and property, cutting down his fences, and leaving trash. In the last two years he has found 17 dead bodies and two Koran bibles.

Another rancher testified that daily drugs are brought across his ranch in a military operation. A point man with a machine gun goes in front, 1/2 mile behind are the guards fully armed, 1/2 mile behind them are the drugs, behind the drugs 1/2 mile are more guards. These people are violent and they will kill anyone who gets in the way.

This was not the only rancher we heard that day that talked about the drug trains. One man told of two illegal’s [sic] who came upon his property one shot in the back and the other in the arm by the drug runners who had forced them to carry the drugs and then shot them. Daily they listen to gun fire during the night it is not safe to leave his family alone on the ranch and they can’t leave the ranch for fear of nothing being left when they come back.

The border patrol is not on the border. They have set up 60 miles away with check points that do nothing to stop the invasion. They are not allowed to use force in stopping anyone who is entering. They run around chasing them, if they get their hands on them then they can take them back across the border.

Federal prisons have over 35% illegal’s [sic] and 20% of Arizona prisons are filled with illegal’s [sic]. In the last few years 80% of our law enforcement that have been killed or wounded have been by an illegal. The majority of people coming now are people we need to be worried about. The ranchers told us that they have seen a change in the people coming they are not just those who are looking for work and a better life.

The Federal Government has refused for years to do anything to help the border states.

The border can be secured. We have the technology and we have the ability to stop this invasion. We must know who is coming and they must come in an organized manner legally so that we can assimilate them into our population and protect the sovereignty of our country.

We are a nation of laws. We have a responsibility to protect our citizens and to protect the integrity of our country and the government which we live under. I would give amnesty today to many, but here is the problem, we dare not do this until the Border is secure. It will do no good to give them amnesty because thousands will come behind them and we will be over run to the point that there will no longer be the United States of America but a North American Union of open borders.

I ask you what form of government will we live under? How long will it be before we will be just like Mexico, Canada or any of the other Central American or South American country? We have already lost our language, [sic] everything must be printed in Spanish. We have already lost our history, it is no longer taught in our schools, and we have lost our borders.

The leftist media has distorted what SB 1070 will do.

The Socialists wants us to just let them come. They want the “Transformation” to continue.

Maybe it is too late to save America. Maybe we are not worthy of freedom anymore. But as an elected official I must try to do what I can to protect our Constitutional Republic. Living in America is not a right just because you can walk across the border.

Being an American is a responsibility and it comes by respecting and upholding the Constitution, the law of our land, which says what you must do to be a citizen of this country. FREEDOM IS NOT FREE.

Senator Sylvia Allen.
