Organized labor appears to be dumping union money into TheTeaPartyIsOver.org, a website created to destroy Tea Party groups whose ideas organizers say undermine “the legitimacy of the federal government in favor of a radical right-wing form of state’s rights.”

The American Public Policy Committee, whose goal is to “prevent the Tea Party’s dangerous ideas from gaining legislative traction,” pays for the site, which has connections to the Service Employees International Union and the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees.

According to opensecrets.org, the top two financial donors to the American Public Policy Committee so far this year are Patriot Majority West and Patriot Majority.

AFSCME contributed $5.8 million to Patriot Majority in 2008, with SEIU its second largest contributor during the election cycle. The Teamsters Union, the United Food and Commercial Workers Union, and the Pennsylvania AFL-CIO also contributed to the group’s coffers.

How long before union leaders unleash their thugs on their own rank-and-file brethren who also happen to be tea party members?

Stay tuned!

Minnesotans are attractive people and deserve good things; they are fun to be with and entitled to their share of happiness. And they refuse to beat themselves up because state officials spent $3.3 million on 11 wind turbines that aren’t working in the cold weather.

The wind turbines will need either electric or natural gas heaters to stop the special hydraulic fluid (designed for colder temperatures) from congealing, which of course will drastically reduce the net energy gain from each turbine and pretty much negate the reason for using turbine power in the first place.

In the real world, where the wind blows only sometimes and the government blows all the time, alternative forms of green energy are never constant, dependable, or cost efficient.
