In last Thursday’s Republican debate, Rick Santorum explained why Romney would lose the election to Obama if Romney is the party nominee:

“Folks, we can’t give this [ObamaCare] issue away in this election. It is about fundamental freedom.”

And Romney doesn’t think that people should be angry about ObamaCare. He’s either forgotten or doesn’t know why the Democrat incumbents took such a drubbing in the 2010 midterm elections. Earth to Mitt, Republicans and independents threw out the rascal Democrats because they passed ObamaCare.

ObamaCare is the proverbial millstone around Obama’s neck, which is why the issue can’t be given away. Romney’s contention that people shouldn’t be angry over the passage of ObamaCare not only gives Obama the high ground on health reform but also makes the issue moot.

As a politician, Romney lacks real convictions. His one-eighties on issues “have been so frequent and transparently self-serving that a moderately intelligent preschooler could see through them.”

Romney’s issue reversals will make it easy for Obama, Soros’ minions, and the Democrat Party press, aka the mainstream media, to characterize him as the stereotypical unprincipled politician willing to say anything to get elected.

And based on his affinity with Democrat positions, they’d be right.

“Some men change their party for the sake of their principles; others their principles for the sake of their party.”—Winston Churchill

The new “National Sexuality Education Standards” report, put together by Planned Parenthood, the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN), the American School Health Association, the National Education Association Health Information Network, the American Association for Health Education, and the Society of State Leaders of Health and Physical Education, proposes “comprehensive sexuality education for kindergarten through 12th grade.”

The report recommends “age-appropriate” sex education guidelines for several areas including anatomy, identity, pregnancy, and sexually-transmitted diseases (STDs).

Standards to be introduced in kindergarten and be met by the second grade include: “Identify different kinds of family structures” and “Demonstrate ways to show respect for different types of families.”

Recommendations for students by the time they reach age seven include that they [u]se proper names for body parts, including male and female anatomy and “[p]rovide examples of how friends, family, media, society and culture influence ways in which boys and girls think they should act.”

The report contains a glossary that defines terms such as gender identity, gender roles, and transgenderism. In addition, the report lists GLSEN and Planned Parenthood Advocates for Youth as “National Resources” for teachers.

The Navy tradition of choosing one sailor to be the first to kiss a loved one on the dock after a long voyage has been scrapped and replaced with a government-scripted propaganda stunt.

In the Navy, yes, you can sail the seven seas.

In the Navy, yes, you can put your mind at ease.

In the Navy, come on now people, make a stand.

In the Navy, can’t you see we need a hand.

In the Navy, come on, protect the motherland.

In the Navy, come on and join your fellow, man.

In the Navy, come on, people, and make a stand.

In the Navy, in the Navy.

Petty Officers Marissa Gaeta and Citlalic Snell participated in the administration’s homecoming kiss stunt after Gaeta’s ship, the USS Oak Hill, docked in Virginia Beach,Virginia.

The WSJ snippet below provides some insight on why Tim Tebow is so outstanding.

“According to the former Florida coach Urban Meyer, Mr. Tebow’s philanthropic efforts reshaped campus culture … In December 2009 … at Walt Disney World Resort, he met a 20-year-old college-football fan named Kelly Faughnan, a brain-tumor victim who suffers from hearing loss and visible, continual tremors. She was wearing a button that said “I love Timmy.” Someone noticed and made sure that the young woman had a chance to meet the player.

Mr. Tebow spent a long while with Ms. Faughnan and her family, and asked her if she’d like to be his date for [a college-football awards ceremony] the following night. She agreed, and the scene of Mr. Tebow escorting the trembling young woman down the red carpet led much of the reporting about the event.”

There are ten times as many federal employees who make over $150,000 annually as there were in 2005, and twenty times as many who make above $180,000. Obviously government work is a good gig, especially for White House staffers.

Although the Ruler froze salaries for staffers making over $100,000 a year, last year he raised them an average of 9 percent for 75 percent of White House employees. And this year, he increased salaries an average of 8 percent for 54 percent of White House employees.

Last year’s staffer raises doubled that of most executives and salaried workers, and this year they are almost three times better than the average white-collar worker.

According to the Ruler, the salary freeze was to ensure that those leading the nation out of its economic malaise share a sense of what American workers are experiencing. However, over the past two years the gap in the misery index has widened, which makes it even more difficult for those who work in government to understand just how devastating the economic crisis has been on private sector workers.

A couple days ago House Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy used a scene from The Town (a crime movie about thieves who need to stick together to accomplish their mission) to inspire skeptical House Republicans to “get their asses in line” and go along with “Tammy Faye” Boehner’s deficit reduction plan.

According to reports, the tactic worked splendidly on Florida congressman Allen West, a Tea Party favorite who went from critic to enthusiastic supporter of the Boehner Plan.

Before voting today on Boehner Plan 2.0, West and House Republicans should seriously ponder the following exchange between Attorney General Gideon Young and FBI Director James Grace from the movie The Kingdom:

Attorney General Gideon Young: I’m gonna bury you.

FBI Director James Grace: You know, Westmoreland made all of us officers write our own obituaries during Tet, when we thought The Cong were gonna end it all right there. And, once we clued into the fact that life is finite, the thought of losing it didn’t scare us anymore. The end comes no matter what, the only thing that matters is how do you wanna go out, on your feet or on your knees? I bring that lesson to this job. I act, knowing that someday this job will end, no matter what. You should do the same.

Someday your jobs in Washington will end. The question is will you leave office on your feet or on your knees?

Five (Fairly) Short Points

By Michael E. Hammond

(1)  House Republicans are walking into an enormous trap. The Boehner plan is sufficiently similar to the Reid plan, in virtually all important respects, that its passage will lead to the following compromise:

The adoption of Boehner’s ten years of sham cuts, which will be ephemeral beyond fiscal year 2012. Even John McCain said tonight that Gramm-Rudman (whose “sequestration” provisions are the enforcement mechanism for Boehner) became worthless because Congress just started declaring emergencies.

A commission which will report out large tax increases which cannot be filibustered. The “deciders” on the commission will be six Pelosi/Reid people and one squish Republican, who will be corralled into submission by:

A “trigger” which will make the pressure currently being applied to Congress seem small by comparison.

(2) Unless you can guarantee that it will go to the states, a guarantee of a losing vote on the balanced budget amendment is worthless.

(3) Dick Morris is correct that if Tuesday comes and goes, with only a shut-down of unessential government agencies, the American people will see Obama’s fear-mongering for what it is.

(4) Furthermore, as 2008 taught us, the GOP can sell all of its principles and spend the better part of a trillion dollars and the stock market will still continue to fall – particularly since Standard & Poor’s is about to downgrade the U.S. for being too timid in debt reduction.

(5) Finally, Obama is currently reeling from his poor stewardship. For Republicans to capitulate and give him a “compromise” will reset him on a glide path to reelection. The liberal media is currently “spinning” that Republicans have won, but, after they lose, their surrender will be reported for what it was.

Hammond was former General Counsel to the Senate Steering Committee from 1978-1989.

Once again mainstream media propagandists have trumpeted a lie to attach blame to Christianity for a horrific terrorist attack. They added the Christian moniker to Oklahoma City Bomber Timothy McVeigh, and now they’re doing it again. Only this time it’s Norwegian terrorist Anders Behring Breivik who’s wearing the Christian fundamentalist moniker.

As it turned out, McVeigh was a self-proclaimed agnostic who lauded science as his religion, and now Breivik’s 1,500-page manifesto reveals that he is a Darwinian who does not pray, has doubts about God’s existence, and is not a Christian.

“As for the Church and science, it is essential that science takes an undisputed precedence over biblical teachings. Europe has always been the cradle of science, and it must always continue to be that way. Regarding my personal relationship with God, I guess I’m not an excessively religious man. I am first and foremost a man of logic.”

The media propagandists have desperately tried to tie Christian motivations to Breivik’s and McVeigh’s acts of terrorism. Even though the facts contradict the propagandists desperate attempts to slander Christianity, they won’t retract their false reports because they know that their lies will travel halfway around the world “before the truth can get its boots on.”

A report by the Defense Department’s Inspector General finds the 2010 Pentagon survey that was so instrumental in the repeal of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” (DADT) had been engineered and skewed to favor repeal.

“[E]vidence showed the source carefully disclosed specific survey data to support a pro-repeal agenda … to gain momentum in support of a legislative change during the ‘lame duck’ session of Congress.”

A November Washington Post article reported that 70 percent of military respondents said a DADT repeal would a have a “positive, mixed, or nonexistent” effect. But the truth is combat troops overwhelmingly opposed the DADT repeal, 44 percent to 11 percent. Troops with combat experience said the repeal would have a negative or very negative impact on troops in the field.

[O]ver twelve times as many Marine combat troops said repeal would impact unit readiness negatively as those who responded positively, while Army combat troops were six times more likely to be negative than positive.

In December, the Ruler and Defense Secretary Robert Gates used the Post’s false information to tell Congress and the American people that more than two-thirds of those responding to the Pentagon survey either favored or didn’t object to a DADT repeal.

“When a well-packaged web of lies has been sold gradually to the masses over generations, the truth will seem utterly preposterous and its speaker a raving lunatic.”—Dresden James

Members of the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union (RWDSU) who work at the Tyson Foods poultry processing plant in Shelbyville, Tennessee, have exchanged their paid Labor Day holiday for the sacred Muslim holiday marking the end of Ramadan.

To accommodate Muslim workers, union committee members made the Muslim celebration of Eid al-Fitr a top priority in last November’s contract negotiations. As part of the new contract, Muslim workers were also given a prayer room.

“Eid al-Fitr is one of eight paid holidays for all team members covered by the contract, while Labor Day is not a paid holiday.”—Gary Mickelson, Media Relations Director for Tyson Foods

Approximately 250 employees at the plant are political refugees from Somalia, and most, if not all, of them are believed to be Muslim. Eighty percent of the plants’ 1,000 union members approved the new contract.

The holiday swap does not affect any of Tyson’s 118 other plants.

[The Muslim call to prayer is] ”one of the prettiest sounds on Earth at sunset.”—Barack Obama

The co-founder and former Executive Director of a defunct abortion mill will head the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee and “will be in charge of recruiting, vetting, and influencing considerable funding for all Democrat candidates for Congress.”

For 13 years Allyson Schwartz owned and operated the lawsuit-riddled Elizabeth Blackwell Center in Philadelphia.

18 lawsuits have been filed against Miss Allyson Schwartz’s clinic, including assault, battery, negligence, perforated bowels and uteruses, and even abortions performed without consent of her patients.”

The four-term Pennsylvania Congresswoman continues to be a stalwart for the abortion business. NARAL consistently grades her pro-abortion efforts a perfect 100, and the radical pro-abortion PAC EMILY’s List gives hundreds of thousands of dollars to keep her in office.

In return, Schwartz voted against the Child Interstate Abortion Notification Act, the Unborn Child Pain Awareness Act, and the Stupak Amendment. Schwartz even sponsored the Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA) which would have erased all federal, state, or local limitations on abortion up to an including the ninth month of pregnancy.

Earlier this year, Democrat lawmakers were ready to shut down the government to keep Planned Parenthood coffers flush with taxpayer money, and the Ruler’s Bread and Circuses Administration were poised to cut off Medicaid funding for millions of people in Indiana if the flow of taxpayer money to Planned Parenthood stopped.
