It looks like Amazon.com has pulled one its stocking stuffers after receiving thousands of angry comments and threats of boycotts. Until last Wednesday, Amazon had been selling the self-published e-book The Pedophile’s Guide to Love and Pleasure: a Child-lover’s Code of Conduct by Philip R. Greaves II.
“Amazon believes it is censorship not to sell certain books simply because we or others believe their message is objectionable. Amazon does not support or promote hatred or criminal acts, however, we do support the right of every individual to make their own purchasing decisions.”—Amazon.com
Greaves, the Mr. Lonelyhearts of anxious childmolesters, offers guidelines for pedophiles “to make pedophile situations safer” for the children involved with them.
“I hope to achieve this by appealing to the better nature of pedosexuals, with hope that their doing so will result in less hatred and perhaps liter [sic] sentences should they ever be caught.”—Philip R. Greaves II
Greaves said that he published the book to tackle the media’s unfair portrayals of pedophiles. According to Greaves, “True pedophiles love children and would never hurt them.”
The 47-year-old claims he has not had sexual contact with a child as an adult, but did as a teenager. Greaves added that an older female had first introduced him to oral sex when he was seven years old.
Although Amazon defended selling the book, company spokesman Drew Herdener refused to address the controversy or respond to questions about company’s vetting process for its digital publications.
