Juan Williams got what he deserved

By Scott Ryan

Yes, Juan Williams got canned by NPR.  Yes it was outrageous and unjust.

My take is going to be short and sweet.

It is poetic justice to see a liberal, who has spent his life fighting to inflict left winged idiocy on the REST OF US – it is JUSTICE to see the same idiocy used against him.

I’m not going to follow the easy path of expressing sympathy for this guy as they are doing on Fox, which awarded Williams with an undeserved, $2 million dollar reward . I’m not subscribing to the prosaic “he may be a liberal but he’s our liberal” nonsense.

Yes IT WAS UNJUST and ludicrous what NPR did to Juan.  But Juan has devoted his life to the cause of putting the screws to US and he needs to get a good taste of what he’s been cooking all these years.

Until Juan does a 180 and renounces his party and his life’s work, what Juan has been insisting is good for the gander, should be good for the goose.  Taste it, like it or RENOUNCE it – because this is the defining example of irrational, illogical, pc leftism.

That sympathetic narrative is too trite for me to digest. He doesn’t -deserve- to be rewarded with a BETTER contract simply because he was victimized by the EXACT ideology he has devoted his career to spreading. That ideology has virtually destroyed this country. No, I REFUSE to embrace this intellectual banality the way they are trying to play it. That’s about RATINGS for Fox and is not the argument, the approach nor the train of reasoning that best serves this country. The enemy of my enemy is –still- my enemy when both factions represent Marxism.

To elevate Williams is an injustice because most of – US- don’t get to reap REWARDS for damaging the country.  Yes, defund NPR.  I’ve been saying that for decades.  That doesn’t mean Juan should be given a larger platform to spread his errors.

“Juan brings ‘balance’ to the debate”??? Well, excuse me but I believe what we call “conservative” is TRUTH. I do not believe that peppering truth with moderate dosages of idiocy represents “balance”. Why in the HELL do we feel it obligatory to “balance” TRUTH with lies???

If we actually BELIEVE these self evident truths, how could we dare contend that diluting it with error represents BALANCE?

Mark my words, this same group of pundits force feeding this crap to us tonight are the same people who are going to be cramming Mitt Romney down our throats in 2012 while they distort and vilify the reputations of those who oppose that contemptible RINO just as Fox did in 2008.

The Stockport Council in the United Kingdom has ordered a café owner to rip out an extractor fan because the smell of bacon offends Muslims. The Greater Manchester planning bosses ruled the smell of frying bacon is “unacceptable on the grounds of residential amenity.”

Next door neighbors complained to Council when their visiting Muslim friends said they had become “physically sick” from the “foul odor” coming from Beverley’s Snack Shack. Cafe owner Beverley Akciecek and her husband Cetin, a Turkish Muslim, prepare and cook hot and cold sandwiches and hot-pots for their customers.

“[I]t’s crazy. Cetin’s friends actually visit the shop, they’re regular visitors, they’re Muslim people, they come in a couple of times a week.

I have Muslim people come in for cheese toasties.

[W]e have three visitors who come here for a sandwich, friends of my husband, and the smell doesn’t offend them at all.”—Beverley Akciecek

An extractor fan has been in the take-out restaurant for nearly ten years although the Akciecek’s did replace the old fan when they took over in 2007.

Back in the USSA:

The Council for American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) is in a tizzy over Juan Williams’ “inconvenient truth” and nudged the powers-that-be ever so slightly at National Public Radio (NPR) to fire him.

Appearing on the O’Reilly Factor with Bill O’Reilly, Williams admitted to being uneasy when he sees people dressed in Muslim garb on a plane.

“I think, you know, they are identifying themselves first and foremost as Muslims, I get worried. I get nervous.”—Juan Williams

CAIR found Williams’ remarks “irresponsible and inflammatory,” and NPR condemned them for undermining “his credibility as a news analyst” and for being “inconsistent with our editorial standards and practices.”

A man may see how this world goes with no eyes.

As conservatives battle for control of Congress against the left, the National Rifle Association (NRA) has been systematically abandoning pro-gun Republicans while endorsing anti-gun Democrats across the country.

For example, in North Carolina’s 11th Congressional District, the NRA is endorsing incumbent Democrat Heath Shuler over Republican Jeff Miller, even though Shuler brokered the deal to pass the DISCLOSE Act (HR 5175), designed to silence businesses, grass roots organizations, and gun groups two months outside an election. The NRA also is endorsing California’s Dan Lundgren, even though Lundgren was the architect of one of the original “assault weapon” bans.

The NRA endorses anti-gun Democrats because:

  1. it relies on access-based lobbying; i.e., when access is all important, the lobbyist must constantly curry favor with the politician for that access, which means the politician ends up telling the NRA what it must accept rather than the NRA telling the politician what he or she must do.
  2. it often makes bad deals to avoid a committee hearing on a particular piece of gun legislation out of fear of losing and appearing weak. The NRA strategy to avoid passage of bad gun control bills perpetuates anti-gun politicians and future gun control.
  3. it expects to lose and has adopted a policy of preemptive surrender, ceding territory where necessary to prolong the fight.
  4. success would nullify the need for its existence. If gun laws were declared unconstitutional or repealed, the salaries and benefits of the NRA chief executives would disappear. In 2008, Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre was paid $1,263,101; NRA Institute for Legislative Action EVP Chris Cox was paid $661,059; Treasurer Wilson Phillips was paid $649,463; General Operations Executive Director Kayne Robinson was paid $602,608; and Secretary Edward Land, Jr. was paid $509,186.

If the NRA is to be reformed, its members must demand the Board of Directors stop endorsing candidates from the Party of gun control, giving its top grades to anti-gun Democrats, abandoning pro-gun politicians, and selling out the Second Amendment rights of gun owners for phony “successes.”
