ENGAGING A FOOL IN HIS FOLLY

I have learned that fools never will be ruled by reason and persuasion and that to engage them in their foolish arguments only diminishes my ability to discern truth from error and wisdom from folly. That said, I offer the following e-mail exchange with a tea party activist who took umbrage with my Diaries’ post “So What’s Up With Some Florida Tea Partiers?“

DID YOU MENTION THAT GEORGE BUSH WANTED BOB SMITH OUT AFTER 20 YEARS SO HIS GOOD BUDDY SUNUNU’s SON COULD GET THE SEAT?DID YOU MENTION THE RUBIO CHARGES BROUGHT BY THE NEWSPAPERS.HOW ABOUT RUBIO’S GOOD FRIEND RAY SANSON WHO HAS JUST BEEN INDICTED FOR SOMETHING RUBIO HAS ALSO DONE WITH F.I.U. I.M. Kane:  Keep playing games and keep the progressives in power.  My point is No Conservative in his right mind would ever vote for Kerry, regardless of what Bush did to him! Got it?

One would think after last night (House Dems passed ObamaCare) people like you’d learn about Democrats, but I guess not.

If you’re not a mole, you’re a fool.

TP Activist:  Answer the questions Jerry not just call me names. You are willing to vote and tell other people to vote for a corrupt politician, so I guess it’s O.K. with you to be corrupt as long as you win.! That speaks to your character. It’s people like you that caused the Republicans to lose in 2006 & 2008. We are trying to clean up the Republican Party, not just win , so that they stand for Conservatism, not more corruption. I’ll bet YOU can’t name ONE corrupt thing or backroom deal Bob Smith has done! That’s why you refuse to answer me about the things I listed about RUBIO, because you can’t! 

I.M. Kane:  I don’t engage fools in conversation; it’s a waste of my time and energy. I’m giving you the benefit of the doubt wanting to be wrong about you. If I find I’ve wasted my time, I will disengage from future correspondence and leave you to your folly.

Republicans lost in ’06 and ’08 not because of people like me but because they refused to recognize their enemy. Corruption is not the enemy, Progressivism is.  If you clean up the Republican Party without winning in November, you lose the country to the progressives and the only hope of righting it by the ballot box.  After the November election, they will corrupt the census data to redraw the districts and give illegals amnesty and voting rights, which will solidify their power and create one-party rule.

If Republicans don’t take back control, the progressive Democrats will feel their oats and seat their messianic dictator. Don’t think for a moment it can’t happen here, or that American progressives are somehow softer than their tyrannical counterparts in Soviet Russia, Red China, Cuba, and Venezuela.

Wake up before we run out of time. Or you and those like you will be responsible for handing America over to be ruled by progressive tyrants, as the German people were responsible for allowing the Nazi tyranny to take over Germany in the early 1930s.

We can still stop them, but we must put aside our petty differences, take over the Republican Party, and use it to dismantle the nanny state and restore individual liberty and personal freedom. 

Got it?

BTW, you asked for one corrupt thing Smith has done. You seem to have missed my point. The fact that he voted for and publicly endorsed Kerry is enough to destroy any claim for being a conservative.

Smith’s conservative voting record has been made irrelevant by his impetuousness. He lost credibility and can’t be trusted, which is also true for Romney and Huckabee. He was pissed off at Bush, so he publicly endorsed an anti-American, anti-military leftist progressive.

He is without excuse for such irresponsible, thoughtless actions. The only thing worse would be if he had publicly endorsed OBAMA in ’08, but then Bush wasn’t running was he?

TP Activist:  NO JERRY, I SAID ANSWER THE CHARGES AGAINST RUBIO! BUT YOU CAN’T, CAN YOU.

I.M. Kane:  At this point I broke off the exchange, but the TP activist had a bit more to say. (See below.) I did not respond to his charges against Rubio, as I would not have responded to the comPost’s charges of racism against Allen regarding his “macaca moment.” I viewed the TP activist’s charges against Rubio as a diversionary tactic to change the focus of the argument to gain the high ground and put me on the defensive.

The point of my post was to point out the folly of endorsing Smith at such a late date and running the risk of splitting the conservative vote and nominating by default the RINO Crist. I had no intention or desire to defend Rubio against the charges made by three leftist rags in Florida sympathetic to Crist. Not being a Floridian, my knowledge of Rubio has been limited to his CPAC speech, Collin Levy’s Wall Street Journal piece, and a few scattered radio and television interviews.

TP Activist:  I’M SENDING THIS TO ALL OF YOU TO SHOW HOW FAR REPUBLICAN PARTY MEMBERS WILL GO TO DEFEND CORRUPT REPUBLICANS. BEWARE OF PEOPLE LIKE THIS IN OUR OWN RANKS. THEY WILL TRY TO CONVINCE YOU THAT IT’S MORE IMPORTANT TO VOTE REPUBLICAN THAN CONSERVATIVE!

I.M. Kane:  Having read this exchange, I hope you (my reader/s) will better understand why I have some serous misgivings with some activists in the tea party movement. They don their three-cornered hats, drape themselves in a flag, lace up their red-white-and blue shoe strings, and once fully attired set out to drive wedges between conservatives and the Republican Party that will ensure Democrat and RINO victories in November. I can’t say whether they’re moles or fools, either way they’re helping to destroy the Republic.

For the record:  I am a registered Republican more by necessity, than by choice. The Republican Party is the only means to take back the political power from the progressives and save the Republic. Even the blind now see that the Democrat Party is completely controlled by the progressives. A third party or a split among conservatives only furthers the progressive agenda for a totalitarian state.

OBAMACARE MAKES US BANKRUPTCY CERTAIN

We’re the Last To Know…

Our country faces economic disaster, but our mainstream media don’t seem to have a clue. For the specifics, you have to read the foreign press. In this case, the facts and figures are all spelled out in a lesser known Italian publication covering Asian news. Asians have stopped investing in the United States, and this article explains the reason:

This year, US public debt could reach end game

….now even US Federal Reserve Chairman Ben S Bernanke is warning the US Congress about the danger. In a statement before the House Financial Services Committee… he said that the US public debt might no longer be sustainable very soon…. Bernanke says the United States is likely to face a debt crisis like the one in Greece sooner than later, “not something that is 10 years away”.

In 2008, the size of the debt was such that it was quite clear that it was not sustainable. Now we have a timeframe to measure the likelihood of insolvency for the US public debt, and it is this year….

By the end of 2010, the US Treasury will have to refinance US$ 2 trillion in short-term debt, plus additional deficit spending for this year, estimated to be around US$ 1.5 trillion (US$ 1.6 trillion today two months after the original article was published). Together, the US Treasury will need to borrow US$ 3.5 trillion (US$ 3.6 according to this writer) in just one year.

In 1999, two well-known economists—Alan Greenspan and Pablo Guidotti—published a formula in an academic paper. Kept secret for a long time, it is designed to predict with precision when a country’s public debt will lead it to be insolvent. Called the Greenspan-Guidotti rule, it says that to avoid a default, countries should maintain hard currency reserves equal to at least 100 per cent of their short-term foreign debt maturities.

According to the author, the United States holds 8,133.5 metric tonnes of gold (the world’s largest holder). At November 2009 dollar values, that is about U$ 300 billion. The US strategic petroleum reserve shows a current total position of 725 million barrels. At current dollar prices, that is roughly US$ 58 billion worth of oil. According to the IMF, the US has US$ 136 billion in foreign currency reserves. Altogether, that is some US$ 500 billion in reserves (US$ 455.5 billion according to AsiaNews).

Foreigners hold 44 per cent of US$ two trillion short-term US debt; that is US$ 880 billion. Total domestic savings in the United States are only around US$ 600 billion annually. If the United States needs to sell US$ 3.5 trillion (or US$ 3.6 trillion) in Treasury bills, and all domestic savings combined are put into US Treasury debt, the United States will still fall short by nearly US$ 3 trillion. Where is the rest of the money going to come from?

Not China, nor India or any other Asian countries….

The article goes on to provide details of the redirection of Asian investing. Finally:

Whenever US insolvency becomes self-evident, no one dare say they did not know. The Greenspan who came up with the aforementioned formula is the same Alan Greenspan who chaired the Federal Reserve for 18 years and allowed speculative. i.e. “structured” finance to expand (based on poorly tested mathematical algorithms).

This is the same Greenspan who in 1977 wrote a prophetic PhD dissertation (which was removed from his university at his request in 1987, when he became Fed chairman) on how financial bubbles develop in real estate and then burst. Not only was Greenspan aware of it, but so were US top financial circles. In other periods of history, this could lead to accusations of “treason”, but today our sense of personal and collective responsibility is more faded and faint than before….

Note that Congress knew, based on Bernanke’s testimony, that our country faced bankruptcy before they passed the expensive health care bill. And the complicit media kept this information from the public, so as not to diminish the chances for passing the so-called “health care reform.”

Note also that having exhausted the traditional sources of revenue, Congress will most likely consider confiscating the citizenry’s retirement plans, IRAs, and 401Ks next.

PUT THIS IN YOUR PIPE AND SMOKE IT!

According to the Reverend Al Sharpton, the American public (which includes blacks) overwhelmingly voted for socialism when they elected Brother O.

Knowing that 96 percent of American blacks voted for Brother O, it’s reasonable to conclude that American blacks are overwhelming socialist.

Therefore, the reason why more blacks don’t attend tea parties or belong to the Republican Party has less to do with racism and more to do with ideology.

Unless the Republican Party becomes more socialist than the Democrat Party, it’s a waste of time, money, and energy to “reach out” and campaign for the black vote?

Judge Orders September 11 Organizer’s Release

U.S. District Judge James Robertson has ordered the release of a suspected al Qaeda organizer once considered “the highest value detainee” at Guantánamo Bay. The judge granted a petition for habeas corpus, finding the government lacked legal grounds to hold the suspect.

Mohamed Ould Slahi was being held for helping recruit Mohammed Atta and two other al Qaeda members who took part in the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. In addition, Slahi was accused of involvement in the Millennium plot to bomb Los Angeles International Airport.

Suspected of having ties to other al Qaeda operations, prosecutors had considered seeking the death penalty against Slahi. They had planned to try him by military commission but decided against the idea having learned that Slahi had received weeks of physical and mental torment, including a death threat and a threat to bring his mother to Guantanamo Bay where she could be gang-raped.

Although the special interrogation techniques induced Slahi to sing like a canary, military prosecutor Marine Lt. Col. V. Stuart Couch decided not to prosecute him for legal, professional, and moral reasons. According to Couch, the evidence against Slahi had been elicited through cruel interrogation techniques, making it inadmissible in a court of law.

Senators Pat Leahy (D-VT) and Arlen Specter (D-PA), who pushed for the legislation to restore habeas corpus rights to Gitmo detainees in 2007, are responsible for the consequences of that legislation. These creepy old bastards have made it possible for a suspected terrorist plotters of the 9/11 attacks, which murdered thousands of innocent Americans, to be set free to commit even greater carnage against Americans.

Specter’s up for re-election this November and Pennsylvanians have the opportunity to show their gratitude for such a thoughtless contribution to their safety.
